  • We LOVE dogs, and there are so many dog friendly patios! However, we do require an additional fee of $50 per dog per two-night stay, as long as they stay off furniture, and are not left alone to their own devices in the house. Please let us know if your furry friend will be joining you!

  • We only allow 10 guests to stay the night. This occupancy cannot be exceeded. The number of guests must be specified when booking.

  • The inside of YDR is smoke free. If you would like to smoke, please do so on the porch. Make sure cigarettes are extinguished and dispose in the trash (not on the lawn or driveway). Extra fees will be applied for odors, burn marks, etc. that result from smoking inside the home.

  • No. We ask that you please bring your own firewood to enjoy YDR’s fire pit.

  • Unfortunately, since the retreat is a Sears Roebuck kit-house there are multiple staircases required to access bedrooms, however all staircases are equipped with handrails.

  • We have a Keurig dual-brew machine, which allows guests to choose between single-serve K-cups or a full pot of coffee.

  • We welcome certain gatherings and events. All events must be approved in advance to ensure they align with our space, capacity, and policies. Approved events will require additional fees beyond the standard nightly rate. Please reach out directly for more information.

Policies

CHECK-IN TIME

Self-check in with key pad any time after 4:00 pm.

CHECK-OUT TIME

Check-out time is 11:00 am.

RESERVATION AGE REQUIREMENT

Guests must be 21 years of age or older to make a reservation. 

OCCUPANCY

The maximum occupancy is 10 guests. This occupancy cannot be exceeded. The number of guests must be specified when booking. 

PARTIES & EVENTS

Absolutely NO parties or events. This includes scenarios where only 10 people may be staying the night, but the guest is using our house for a reception, family gathering, bridal shower, baby shower, etc. with another 10+ guests coming out just for the day. Our septic system isn't built to withstand 10+ guests on a given day. Fees will be incurred to pump out the septic system and guests may be asked to leave our home.

PARKING

We have free private parking to accommodate our guests. The garage is off limits.

REASONS FOR GUEST REMOVAL

If guests treat our space with disrespect which results in extra cleaning and damage to the house or our septic system, guests will be responsible for reimbursement. In the unfortunate event that neighbors are disrupted, and authorities are notified, GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY. We live next door (we ARE the neighbors).

If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs of any kind, the authorities will be notified, and GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY.

 You Must Acknowledge

Pets live on property — We live next door, approximately 250' away. Our yellow labs, Eddie and Brucey, may come to say hi once they smell a new human guest. They are extremely friendly!

Must climb stairs — Our house was reportedly a former Sears Roebuck kit-house and has multiple flights of stairs, but each flight is equipped with a handrail.

Security camera/recording device — “We recently added outdoor security cameras to our vacation rental. All cameras are outdoor and only used for security reasons.”
